Cooking Quiz
Cooking Quiz is an educational competition designed for students specializing in Food and Wine, Restaurant Service, and Pastry Arts at Hotel Institutes. It was created in collaboration with PLAN Edizioni, the Italian Federation of Chefs (F.I.C.), the Italian National Chefs Team (N.I.C.), ALMA – The International School of Italian Cuisine, the Italian Sommelier Association (A.I.S.), the Re.Na.I.A. Association, and AEHT (European Association of Hotel and Tourism Schools, a nongovernmental organization with consultative status at the Council of Europe).

This contest is for young chefs and waiters who want to take action every day for the preservation of marines resources and thus give an additional meaning to their profession. By entering the competition, you have already won: you understood that tomorrow, fine cuisine will be part of an ecological food transition. It is a responsibility that we have each other in relation to the ocean. It is up to us to save humanity’s pantry.

We are glad to invite you to take part in 4th International Contest for VET students Learn, Know, Do, Can, Show.
The competition will take place in Riga Technical School of Tourism and Creative Industry on March 25 – 27 in Riga, Latvia.
Schedule of the Contest
- 25.03.2025 – Arrival
- 26.03.2025 – Day of contest
- 27.03.2025 – Optional Cultural program in the morning, Award Ceremony, Gala Dinner
- 28.03.2025 – Departure
General regulation:
- The competition is open for students of secondary vocational schools. Age of competitors must be between 16 and 23 years
- Working language of the competition – English
There can be one participant from school in following nominations:
- Cooking – individual competition
- Restaurant Service – individual competition
- Pastry – individual competition
- Bartender – individual competition
- Barista – individual competition
- Vegetarian Culinary Art – individual competition
- Carving – individual competition
- Reception – a team of 2 participants (each from different school)
- Tourism Destination – a team of 2 participants (each from different school)
- Retail Employee – a team of 2 participants (each from different school)
There can be two participants from school in following nominations:
- Fashion and Style – team of 2 (two) participants from one school or 1 (one) participant from each school + 1 (one) model
- Hairdresser – individual competition (1 contestant + 1 model)
- Baker – individual competition
- Gourmet Butcher – individual competition
- Housekeeping – individual competition (Only practical tasks. Available for students with fewer opportunities)
We would like to inform you that the price of the participation package varies depending on the duration of your participation. To view detailed information and options available, please refer to the “PARTICIPATION PACKAGE OPTIONS” section in the registration forms.
Registration: Participants (contestants), Accompanying persons/Teachers and Models (if you are participating in Fashion and Style or Hairstylist nominations) must register via registration form which can be found here: REGISTRATION HERE
Registartion is opened till March 15th.
Accompanying persons/ teachers are invited to register to volunteer as members of the international jury. Should the need arise, you may be invited to serve as part of the international jury.

27-28.03.2025 - 30th edition of Il Piatto Verde in Riolo Terme
We are glad to invite your school to 30th Edition of “Il Piatto Verde” Competition, which will take place at Riolo Terme’s Hospitality School on Thursaday 27 and Friday 28 March 2025.
The competition is organized by Riolo Terme’s Hospitality School and IF “Imola Faenza Tourism Company”. The theme of this edition is:
Elixir of life
Herbs, roots, berries, seeds and flowers of longevity
The invitation is addressed to a cookery student and an accompanying teacher. School teams from far-away places will have the opportunity to benefit from free-of-charge accommodation from Wednesday evening, 26th to Saturday morning, 29rd March 2025, by prior request through the provided sheet.
On the other hand, all costs for travel as well as the ingredients needed for the preparation of the dish in the competition will be borne by your own school.
Please find attached the Competition Rules and Regulations, the Application form and Sheets 1 and 2, in addition to the list of herbs which can be employed.
Each school will have to submit their application, according to the guidelines given in the Regulations, by Saturday, 25th January 2025.
All schools will be sent notification concerning admission to the final stage of the competition, which entails the participation of no more than twelve schools.

21-25.05.2025 - 11th European Culinary art & Cocktail Competition - L’Oro Bianco di Cervia
from the 20th to the 23rd of May 2025 the 11th edition of the European Food and Wine Competition “L’Oro Bianco di Cervia” will be held in Cervia (Ra), promoted and organized by IHE School “TONINO GUERRA” of Cervia, in collaboration with “Il Parco della Saline of Cervia srl”.
The event represents a unique opportunity to meet and get to know each other.
The competition aims to stimulate the use of local resources and to bring out the creativity and dynamism of young people, encouraging professional synergy between students from different institutes.
The Competition is reserved for students of National and European Hotel Institutes who attend the 3rd, 4th and 5th years of courses in the 2024/2025 school year in the areas of Food and Wine, Cuisine/Pastry, Cocktail.
Schools must have their applications received at IIS TONINO GUERRA in Cervia by Saturday, March 15th, 2025 by filling out the format available at the following link:
The confirmation of registration will be communicated to delegations by Saturday, March 22nd , 2025. A meet will be organized for selected schools by I.I.S. Tonino Guerra of Cervia to get all aspects of organization and logistics of each area made clear.
